Observatory House is situated in the quiet southern end of Prince Albert, a small town nestling in the foothills of the Swartberg mountains. It is an oasis of green in the fascinating expanse of the Great Karoo.
The house was built in 1900 and is typical of the architecture of this time, though it has been modernised to suit our modern tastes it still retains a wealth of Victorian charm.
The kitchen is well equipped and open to the dining room which also leads onto the veranda and garden and for those cooler winter evenings the sitting room has a woodstove.
Guests typically spend most of their time outdoors enjoying the sun or on the veranda at night for alfresco dining cooked on the substantial Braai.
Our pool will help to keep you cool in the hottest months and there are lots of shady areas for you to relax, read or watch the multitude of exotic birds that visit the garden.
